Marcello Giordani - Don José
An extraordinarily versatile artist, Marcello Giordani has a repertory which
encompasses a wide and diverse range of roles, spanning from the Bel Canto
operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini and the lyricism of French operatic
repertoire, to the more dramatic roles of Verdi, Puccini and Berlioz and, most
recently, the popular Verismo operas of Mascagni and Leoncavallo:
Cavalleria Rusticana
and
I Pagliacci. Mr. Giordani has
established his international career, performing regularly at Teatro alla Scala,
Metropolitan in New York, Covent Garden in London, Opernhaus in Zürich, Wiener
Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Liceu in Barcelona, Deutsche Oper in
Berlin, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino,
Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro
Massimo “V. Bellini” in Catania, Arena di Verona, Festival Pucciniano in Torre
del Lago, working with the world’s leading conductors including Daniele Gatti,
James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano and Georg Solti.

Hall) Mr. Giordani will return to the Metropolitan Opera in New York engaged in important
productions.
